Workshops – FALL 2019

COLORED CLAY CREATIONS

Sunday, October 27, 2019 – 1:00-5:00pm
$60 per person

Tap into your creativity with colored clay!  Using a variety of colorful mason stains and white clay, you’ll learn how to measure and mix them to create a basic “cane” – a log of clay that is made with a design that runs the entire length of the log.  Then you’ll create your own unique cane which will be used to design a small plate.  The workshop will include introductions to different techniques for creating canes, as well as a demonstration of throwing on the pottery wheel with colored clay.  All materials are included.  (NOTE: Pieces are left at the studio to be bisque fired, then glaze fired with a clear coat.  Participants can pick up their pieces approximately 3-4 weeks after the workshop – just in time for Christmas!)

POURING PAINT & PINOT

Friday, November 1, 2019 – 7:00-9:00pm  OR
Friday, December 6, 2019 – 7:00-9:00pm
$40 per person

Get loose and groovy with acrylic pour painting!  These fluid paintings are exciting and unpredictable, but also a bit messy – so come ready to get your hands dirty!  Attendees will create a small canvas painting using a pouring technique with layered paint colors to generate interesting swirls and organic waves of color.  So come pour a glass and get your groove on!  All art materials are included, but you are invited to BYOB.

PENDANTS WITH PMC (Precious Metal Clay)

Sunday, November 17, 2019 – 1:00-5:00pm
$100 per person

Jewelry making with Precious Metal Clay (PMC) brings pottery to a different realm!  Using PMC and a torch-fire, you’ll create unique pendants or earrings with your own designs in textures and shapes, resulting in solid metal pieces of jewelry.  While it will help to have some experience with clay, this workshop is geared for beginners of PMC.  Come ready to create, hands-on!  All materials are included.
